š The Birth of DRYFT
Welcome to the first DRYFT devlog, where I shortly explain whatās this all about along with sharing some exciting updates on the progress so far.
Why create this kind of game?
The game idea came about when I wanted to create a driving game, and then it hit me like a bolt of lightning. I realised there arenāt many indie (or super-indie) drifting/driving games out there. Plus, Iāve been itching to create a game in 2024, marking the beginning of my game creation career.
My story
Iām still a student and for about a year now, Iāve been itching to create a game. But in the last month or two, my desire to make a game in Unity has been off the chartsā¦ So, I grabbed a free car pack, built a track, threw in some scripts, and BAM! Now, Iām ready to kick off my journey and pick up some C# skills along the way because I want to make something of myself and not just sit around being uselessā¦
Why the name DRYFT?
It just popped into my head. āMake a cool name using the word drift, maybe add some fancy letters like Y, X, or Vā. Iām not entirely sure what Iām saying here, just a random thought that crossed my mind :))
